Kumbabishekam

Kumbabishekam is the powerful Hindu ritual performed in temples that is believed to homogenize, synergize and unite the mystic powers of the deity. Kumbabishekam is also known as Samprokshanam. The word ‘Kumba’ means the head or the crown of the temple and ‘Abishekam’ is the ritual bathing. Kumbabishekam is done to the deity to transform it into all powerful God and surround it by positive energy. Kumbabishekam is believed to be the divine way to restore the power of the deity. Kubabishekam is carried out on the auspicious date and time wherein the Kumbha is bathed with charged and sanctified holy waters in the sacrificial pot by a mystic process. These pranic powers trickle down a silver wire and enter the deity sitting inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. It is strongly believed that the deity who was only a sculptured stone image till then would actually transform into powerful and spiritual Lord with the divine rapture, grace, and grandeur bestowing all the love, luck, prosperity, and blessings on devotees.
